What's my IP? Print

We use CNAT or Carrier Network Address Translation. This shares a single IPv4 address across a group of customers, much like how a router shares a single IPv4 internally over the local network. This is ideal for low cost broadband networks that work. It's not so good for applications that need a static IP address.

Due to the nature of our network's evolution, we use a wide range if IP addresses from BT (Brightview, Plusnet), TalkTalk, ICUK & Virgin Media 02. This means we have limited scope for assigning static IP addresses across our current shared infrastructure. We're working on a new IPv4 network with our own IP assignment which will enable us to assign our own IP addresses to individual customers. Please contact support at team@westnetworks.co.uk .
